CPSF involves providing recreation, sports, team sports, mentoring/rites of passage and academic programs and support services to youth and teens residing in the Chicago metropolitan area with a particular emphasis on girls and young women. We intend to eventually offer services that address the needs of the whole human being.
Chris Pruitt Sports Foundation (CPSF) is born out of concern that in urban areas like Chicago the rates of
felony convictions, incarceration, drug/alcohol abuse and dependency, HIV/AIDS and other STDS out of wedlock and teen births among girls and young women continue to increase.
Community leaders are so preoccupied with the plight and struggles of the urban male population, those issues unique to girls and young women often go unnoticed and are not addressed. Outdated and irrelevant approaches to social change have proven counter-productive and have greatly contributed to the total breakdown and disintegration of families, in particular,
and poor/economically disadvantaged families, in general.
CPSF is committed to developing, designing and implementing programs and services that recognize the real challenges facing community residents, in general,
but girls and young women in particular.
