Diane Williams placed 4th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.07 at the 1987 IAAF World Championships in Rome, Italy.  Williams proved her versatility by ending her season ranked in the top ten in the World by Track & Field News in the 100 meters (#5); she also ranked (#1) on the All Time U.S. List, and posted a personal best in that event at the 1988 Olympic trials in Indianapolis, IN.

1983 - Williams won the Bronze Medal in the Women’s 100 meters with a time of 11.06 at the IAAF World Championships in Helsinki, Finland.  She was also the Pan American Games Silver Medalist in the 100 meters.  Williams was ranked the 5th fastest sprinter in the world by Track and Field News in the 100 meters.

1983 & 1982 - Diane Williams was ranked the 2nd fastest sprinter in the U.S. by Track and Field News in the 100 meters.  She was also ranked the 7th fastest sprinter in the world by Track and Field News in the 100 meters. 

1980 - Diane Williams placed 5th at the US Olympic Trials, Eugene, Oregon; and was ranked in the top ten in the U.S. by Track and Field News in the 100 meters (#6).
